I think its a awful shame this years League of Ireland which kicks off next weekend will start without 3 of the most popular teams Cork Celtic, Derry; and Shelbourne.
Last season was one of the most exciting EVER and this season starts with this scenario.
The facts is the fans love these clubs maybe if they were forced to pay the mimimun wage or something to all its players for a f1xed period rather than demotion would work out better for all league of Ireland soccer fans.
As it is. Its a bit of a disater when it comes to looking for derby games. Bohs v Rover is about the only one left.
And BOHS are usually good things for that.

I never back an O/R winner in this - but obviously looks a 50/50 call between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians this year!

Dizzee..Funny thing is this competition doesn't always go as planned and while its hard to see the winner coming from outside Bohs and Rovers come next Autumn a guy could be well wondring why he thought that.
The Bookies see Sporting Fingal as there main danger. I have to confess I know little about them. But it be great if Sligo came up with a good team and gave it a lash.
St Pats still look to be sorting themselves out after last season. But what ever way it go this year might take much winning.....
But what would give you a good run for your money a lay of either Bohs or Rover or just try a poke in the dark with a bet on one of them and hope they at least give you a run or even the opportunity to lay off later in the year?

Flipping disaster no Cork City, Derry or Shelbourne.
League postions should only be decided by points won on the pitch. Especially for the likes of the League of Ireland.
And who named Cork City, FORAS Co-op?
Come on FORAS just rolls off your tongue and it really gives its fans a true sense of loyalty when they say it. ....I wish!
